The dogs will carry two roles. The first will be house pets. They will receive a dog bed, and anything they will need as pets. Once they are potty trained, they will have free roam of the residence. I do not feel like a dog should have to be kept in a cage for 8 hours a day. Since I will likely be home much of the time, this won’t be necessary, but just in case, they will still have free roam of the residence.
The second role will be that of guard dogs. Their role will be to protect the residence, and family from any would be bad actor. I will have a Beware of Dog sign on the residence’s door to give fair warning. That way, if a bad actor breaks in, and gets injured by the dog doing their job, then they can’t sue me. The dogs will learn to not take treats from strangers, and will not be discouraged by any would be threats. This is one of the reasons I would want Rottweilers. Being that an healthy adult Rottweiler can be as much as 100lbs (45kg), one can expect the dogs to be a formidable deterrent from any would be break-ins.
